We offer fast, comparative online shopping at discounted rates to both business and vacation travelers.

Who are you guys and how can you offer such low rates?
We are a wholesaler specializing in car rentals to warm climates from Florida to Hawaii. We don’t offer accommodations, airfare, etc., and as such can keep our overhead low. We pass the savings on to you.

Do I have to be a member to reserve a rental car?
No, there is no membership required.

What locations does Florida Discount Car Rentals serve?
We service all major airports throughout Florida from Jacksonville to Key West. All airports which we service can be conveniently listed on the front page.

What is the cancellation policy?
There is no penalty for cancellation. We do NOT require credit card information to make a reservation.

How do I cancel a reservation?
Please notify us of the need for cancellation by sending us a quick return email.

Can I make changes to my reservation?
You can. All you need to do is go to the “reservations” section on the home page of the company you have chosen and enter your confirmation number and last name.

What is the minimum age to rent a car?
You must be at least 21 years of age to rent a car through our various rental agencies. There is a surcharge applied to drivers between the ages of 21 to 25 which is usually $25 per day.

How many days earns the weekly rate?
Weekly rate is applied after 5 rental days.

Can I combine stops in several Florida locations to get the weekly rate?
No. The overhead remains the same for a rental at each airport so they would not remain viable if they offered such a program.

Do all vehicles have air conditioning?
Yes.

Can I be sure I’ll get an automatic transmission?
All of our rental vehicles come with automatic transmissions. We do not have the ability to offer standard shift models.

Can I get a child safety seat?
Yes. Child safety seats can be reserved in advance at a daily rate plus tax.

Are the child seats installed in the car when I pick it up?
No. The driver has to install the child seat for liability reasons.

Is insurance included with the rental price as quoted?
No. Insurance is optional and as such, not included in our price quotes. Many drivers find that they are covered by their current insurance and / or major credit card company when renting a vehicle. This should be investigated prior to traveling.

Can I choose the color of my car?
You can request a certain color and we will pass that request along to the reservation staff. However, we do not guarantee you will get that color.

Are there charges for additional hours over 24?
Yes. In general, a rental agency will take the daily cost (we’ll use $30 base rate for easy math) and divide it by 3 hours or $10 per hour. They will then apply this $10 to every hour over 24 until you have reached the daily rate. In this case, if you rented a car for 26 hours, base rate would be $50.

What do I need to have with me to pick the car up?
You will need a valid drivers license and a major credit card. A debit card works fine as long as it has the logo of a major credit card company on it.

Can I get a no smoking permitted vehicle?
Yes, this is the default for Brand X, Dollar, Enterprise, National, and Thrifty.

When do I pay for the rental?
At time of drop off. This is in case you do not return the car in good shape or at the time reserved.

Are there any hidden charges?
No. As long as you perform as reserved, the rates will be as reserved. Please keep in mind that you are responsible for gasoline used and insurance is not included in our quoted pricing unless requested.
