Sights to see in Kona include Hulihee Palace, Kealakekua Bay the place where Captain Cook met his end.

If you travel up highway 11, you will love the towns of Kainaliu and Kealakekua. You will enjoy the ocean view from the many lookouts and Hikiau Heiau, which is a Hawaiian temple, located at Kealakekua Bay, which overlooks the monument for Captain Cook.

Holualoa is another must see with unique restaurants and quaint art galleries sporting local talent. From here, you can travel to Waimea, which will take about 40 minutes and allow you to view coastal views like none other as you travel through lava fields.

Kohala is often called the gold coast. This is the spot for relaxing and romantic sunsets. Kawaihae is only a few miles away and is the home to private cattle ranches. So, you can imagine the delicacies that await you and the friendly and quiet restaurants. You may also enjoy such activities as horseback riding, shopping, air tours, and of course dining while you are here.

The most visited area of Hawaii is the districts of Puna and Ka’u, which is where you will find Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. You can visit this unique area of Hawaii by land, sea, or air and have a great adventure either way.
